The other day I was working with some dojo owners and personal students in a four-hour personal mid-week seminar on bojutsu.  (I like carrying one when I’m hiking it is a great tool for personal protection, if you are trained correctly).  It was in one the local state parks.  At first we were running then power walking with the bo in our hands.  This can be a challenge but at the same time you can learn a lot about your balance and footwork. We would move a short distance, then stop and work on strikes, etc., then move on.  If done just right your body will become very soft and quiet.  What have you found in your outdoor training?
